PROFLEX expansion and move into new Centre of Excellence and World Headquarters
Since forming in just 2018, Proflex Advanced Technology UK Ltd have exceeded all expectations and have made their 3rd expansion move, this time into a dedicated Centre of Excellence Unit based in Braunston.
With its beautiful Canal side location, yet still perfectly positioned within the UK's Motorsport Triangle, the new building will also double up as the Proflex World Headquarters.
Proflex will retain their current manufacturing facility in Leicestershire, but this will now become the Special Projects Division and will continue to concentrate on their Defence, Aviation and Marine contracts.

The Proflex Rally Department were specifically selected, by a high profile Motorsport client, to manufacture a replacement FIA Fuel Bladder Tank for a Ford Focus WRC (2007), which has previously been driven by the talented Mikko Hirvonen, Marcus Gronholm, Henning Solberg and Francois Duval...to name but a few!
So, Ladies and Gentlemen, here it is! One of our most challenging Fuel Tanks to Reverse Engineer due to the complex In-Tank Baffle design for controlled fuel flow, but we rose to the challenge and even excelled as we can probably say that it's our nicest looking Tank too! 😎

Proflex develops lightweight fuel cells for GT Racing
BY LAWRENCE BUTCHER ON 7TH JULY 2020 ENGINE TECHNOLOGY
UK-based Proflex Advanced Technology has been busy developing a number of new fuel cells for GT racing applications, including the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 and 911 GT3 (both 996 and 997).
Proflex uses its own, proprietary Kevlar-based material for construction of the cells, Proflexcell. The use of this, coupled with optimization of the cells’ design, netted an impressive 1.5kg weight reduction in the case of the 997 unit (compared with the original production).
In the case of the Gallardo cell, the customer’s original cell was reverse engineered, and the design then optimized for better fit, with weight reduced by 1kg over the original.
Kevin Molloy, owner of Proflex, noted that as the customer was on a tight budget (as are many teams in the current climate) many of the original tank fittings were refurbished and reused, keeping costs in check.

Proflex Advanced Technology UK Ltd has announced that it has acquired TKM Systems Ltd, a Refuelling, Hose & Fittings and Fuel Systems Specialist.
Simon Dewar (Managing Director of Proflex Advanced Technology UK Ltd) commented:
“TKM Systems Ltd were already chosen as a Distributor for Proflex Advanced Technology UK Ltd and they have played a key role in co-engineering many customer Fuel System projects for Proflex since our company launched at Autosport 2019.
Whilst TKM Systems supplied all of the In-Tank Fuel System and Refuelling components to each of our Fuel Bladder Tanks, it made perfect sense to acquire TKM Systems and bring all of their stock, equipment, knowledge, technical expertise and personnel under one roof. We will now operate entirely under the name of Proflex Advanced Technology UK Ltd and we will grow together whilst working closely with our expanded workforce. We are convinced this acquisition will be key in our future growth, as we can now offer our customers a complete one-stop Fuel System and Fluid Transfer package.”

“When Proflex Advanced Technology UK Ltd first selected TKM Systems Ltd as an official Distributor, we were absolutely thrilled to be 1 of only 2 companies chosen worldwide! Since the launch of our collaboration at Autosport Engineering, TKM and Proflex have been in regular contact working closely together on almost every customer Fuel Bladder Tank project. When the proposal to buy out TKM Systems was first mentioned by Proflex, it was an easy decision to make as the both companies simply complemented each other’s specialty. With Proflex already having larger, established premises for Fuel Bladder Tank manufacturing, it made perfect sense to move all TKM Stock and Assembly Equipment into their premises.
To minimise disruption to all existing TKM Systems customers, the move will be carried out over the weekend of April 27th/28th, 2019, so normal business will be resumed at 9am on Monday morning (April 29th)"

Newly created Safety Fuel Bladder Tank manufacturer, Proflex Advanced Technology UK Ltd, are pleased to announce that they have achieved FIA homologation with their PROFLEXCELL™ material. Manufactured from an ultra-lightweight, aramid based fibre (Kevlar) and reinforced with a high tensile, fuel resistant elastomer, PROFLEXCELL™ has successfully achieved FIA/FT3-1999 approval.
Proflex Advanced Technology UK Ltd Managing Director, Mr Simon Dewar commented:
“It was with great pleasure to announce our successful FIA Safety Fuel Bladder Tank approval at the recent Autosport Show. It was a fitting testament to the culmination of all the hard work during the Research and Development phase in creating the PROFLEXCELL™ material, but now the FIA approval is in place, we are in a position to start supplying Safety Fuel Cells to the Race, Rally and Historic teams, as well as the Motorsport restoration companies. As my background is in the Design and Manufacture of Fuel Bladder Tanks, I have enlisted the help of 2 companies to assist with the Technical Sales and Commercial side of the business as they already have a wealth of experience supplying Race Teams with their Fuel System Parts.
The 2 companies that I have chosen are TKM Systems Ltd (Contact: Kevin Molloy) and Think Automotive (Contact: Matt Potter). Both Kevin and Matt have worked within the Motorsport industry for over 25 years and will be well known to many customers, so they are already familiar with the current markets and their fuel system demands.
